1. What data we process

Questions submitted to the deck

When you submit a question, we process its content to generate a reading.

• Questions are stored with a random technical identifier
• We do not associate questions with your identity
• We do not collect names, email addresses, accounts, or login information
• We do not store full IP addresses

Readings are retained for up to 12 months to support shareable links, then automatically deleted. Aggregated, non-identifying statistics are retained separately.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 in cookieless mode.

This means:

• No cookies are stored on your device
• No persistent identifiers are used
• No cross-session or cross-site tracking is performed

We collect aggregated, anonymized usage data, such as:

• page views
• interaction events (e.g. button clicks)
• scroll depth
• approximate session duration

IP addresses are anonymized before processing. We cannot identify individual users or recognize them across visits.

Google Analytics is used solely to understand aggregate usage patterns and improve the service.

2. Data stored on your device

We use your browser's localStorage and sessionStorage for functional purposes only.

• sa_visits — counts visits to enable basic returning-visitor UX
• sa_reading_history — stores your past readings locally so you can revisit them
• sa_has_reading — remembers whether you have an active reading

sessionStorage

• sa_session_start — tracks session timing for basic usage analytics
• sa_archie_referrer — preserves session-level navigation context

This data:

• stays entirely on your device
• is not sent to our servers
• is not shared with third parties
• is not used for advertising or profiling

These technologies are not cookies and are used only to provide the functionality explicitly requested by you. You can delete this data at any time via your browser settings.

3. Legal basis for processing

We process limited analytics data under legitimate interest pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Our legitimate interest is:

• understanding aggregate usage of the service
• ensuring technical stability
• improving user experience

We do not:

• profile users
• perform behavioral tracking
• serve personalized advertising
• sell or rent data to third parties
